"Esmeralda" is a great value for someone who is ready to roll up his or her sleeves and put some work into her! She has been stored in Green Cove Springs for several years, she needs some fiberglass work on her bow (see photos), but is structurally and mechanically sound. She is a roomy trawler that has been outfitted into a great boat for living aboard and cruising.

  • Hard-bottomed inflatable dinghy
  • 2 outboard motors
  • Swim Platform
  • Spacious aft deck for entertaining
  • Outfitted with solar power
  • Washing machine
  • Two AC units
  • Strong, solid boat

The Prairie 36 was designed by renown naval architect Jack Hargrave of Hatteras Yachts fame and manufactured in Clearwater, Florida by the Prairie Boatworks Company. The resemblance to the Hatteras LRC is evident and Prairie’s are highly desirable and known to be very tough trawlers that make great cruisers and/or liveaboard vessels.  She is powered by 135hp Perkins diesels.

Very well thought out and functional trawler design.  The guest stateroom is forward consisting of a roomy V-berth with opening overhead hatch, two opening ports, ensuite head aft to port with WASHING MACHINE!  A walk-in hanging locker is opposite the head on starboard.  A hinged panel in the bulkhead of the walk-in locker offers access to the lower helm's wiring.  Moving aft up two steps you find the main salon and galley.  A lower helm station is located on starboard with a sliding door offering direct access to the side-deck.  The L-shaped galley is just aft of the helm offering an abundance of counter space and storage with microwave, three burner oven/stove and large refrigerator.  Across from the galley and just forward is a large L-shaped settee and dining table.  A sliding door just aft of the settee offers direct access to the port side-deck.  Down four steps from the main salon you will find a spacious aft master stateroom.  Features include a centerline queen bed, built in vanity and dressing table, generous storage in the form of large drawers, hanging locker and shelves.  The stateroom is large with plenty of  ventilation and natural light from the opening overhead hatch and five opening ports.  An ensuite master head is located forward and to starboard offering a shower/tub, mirrored sink and vanity.

Upper Helm Station

The upper helm is accessed via either side deck up one step to the aft deck cabin top and then up two steps to the flybridge.  The helm seat is centerline providing a commanding view from the upholstered captain's chair.  Designed for entertaining as well, the flybridge offers abundant  lounge seating and ample storage.
