1984 Pilgrim Classic
The Classic Motot Yacht. For the Lover's of a Classic Motor Yacht, The Pilgrim 40 has won many hearts. This fine Canadian vessel was first created by H. (Ted) Gozzard, the designer, on a place mat in a Peterborough, Ontario restaurant. The concept was created for a friend as an ideal boat to use on the Canal and Inter-coastal waterways for nothing more than going slow and a sight seeing vessel for two, with occasional guests. The boats themselves were created and built at North Castle Marine Ltd in Goderich, Ontario in the year 1982, and just fewer than 50 were built in total. Ours is a 1984.This 40' full displacement trawler has seen many loving miles by her owners. With a remarkable solar array and a 2010 repower, she is well equipped and is ready to take her next owners up or down the Intracoastal, across the Erie Canal, around the Great Lakes, or gunkholing in the Florida Keys - she's been there and more! The Pilgrim 40 features a high bow, covered sidedecks and a sturdy wooden rub rail - perfect for families with young children. She's got varnished hand rails and deckhouse trim, a foredeck seat and bronze combination hausepipe/mooring cleats. She is also equipped with an electric windlass and heavy ground tackle. The aft deck has built-in fantail seating and pull out stairs for convenient access to the upper deck. Custom low-cycle refrigerator and freezer make living on the hook a quiet breeze.
