Northern Lights was constructed by the well-respected Cherubini Boat Yard in Delran, NJ. (The Cherubini Boat Yard is famous for its very high quality workmanship and quality finish as evidenced by its listing in Ferenc Mate's World’s Best Sailboats. Its power boats share equally in quality construction.) Northern Lights is a very well maintained FRESH WATER yacht with only one owner since construction and has been professionally cared for, and when not in the water, has been stored indoors in a heated boat shed. Northern Lights is one of the very rare twin engine I45s since almost all of these yachts have been built with a single engine. The twin engines gives Northern Lights both speed and safety while providing the same comfortable ride inherent in all these sturdy seaworthy trawlers. Northern Lights is constructed with a full length keel that hangs below the two propellers and rudder and provides excellent protection from groundings. The yacht is beautifully finished in satin varnished Mahogany wood and a custom upholstery décor. This is a excellent family yacht or ideal for a couple and occasional guest to cruise the Islands or cruise the Great Loop. Down below there are two very comfortable private double staterooms, each with a private head and vanity plus a shared shower.

Northern lights was hand laid in the Cherubini yard and left in the mold for several months to cure completely while interior buildheads were glassed into place. The hull and deck were joined using 3M's 5200 series compound and mechancially fastened with square drives and thru bolted along the entire length of the hull-deck flanges. The hull has a structural stringer systen completely fiberglass encapsulated and limbered to allow for strength and proper water drainage from the bilge areas. The hull bottom is solid fiberglass beginning about 6" above the waterline. The hull topsides and deck are a combination of fiberglass layers and Baltek core for weight reduction, strength and insulation. In specific areas of the deck and top sides the fiberglass and core are doubled in thickness to insure adequate strength for the placement of cleats, windlass, ports, etc. Vinylester resins are used on the outer laminates of the hull for protection from blisters. The engine room below the main salon floor is sound proofed with a very good lead foam liner plus 2" of extra sound insulation to allow Northen Lights to operate with a comfortable low sound level, even when running at high speeds. All thru hull fittings are ball value type and all hoses are US Coast Guard approved and meet all ABYC strict specifications. Each of the four fuel tanks have a separate vent and a separate fill line. The entire hull is grounded to all thru hull fittings and the two engines. Both heads have Y values with two 40 gal fiberglass holding tanks. The deck nonskid is a molded in pattern done at the time the deck is molded and covers the side decks, fore deck and boat deck. All exterior rails are 1.5" aluminum and all doors, hatches and windows are aluminum for corrosion free maintenance. The yacht's bilges are finished smooth and painted with a white exterior marine paint. Northern Light's exterior rub rails extend 3" from the hull sides and are capped with a 1" stainless steel half round strip for protection.
