The Brewer 44 is a rare find on the US west coast. These highly coveted cruisers come on the market infreqently and this boat is a true opportunity for a family or couple in search of a robust go anywhere cruising platform. Galatea is even rarer in that she is a lightly used boat that has never been cruised. From what we know, she has been in Sausalito since new.

Practical Sailor describes designer Ted Brewer as one of the great modern cruising boat designers and describe his boats as well-mannered, attractive and practical.

Our Brewer 44 listing has benefitted from recent updating. The owner has refastened the teak decks and installed beautiful new stainless steel portlights. The accomodations are warm and inviting. The cockpit is a safe location to stand watch and great for entertaining a small group. Unlike many of her sisterships, Galatea does not have a centerboard, which makes her a bit more desirable for west coast buyers. She draws a sensible 6 feet.

She is currently berthed in scenic Sausalito in a very desirable slip at Sausalito Yacht Harbor, a short walk from the ferry terminal and all the attractions of downtown Sausalito. Galatea would make an excellent platform from which to enjoy the America's Cup races this summer. If shoreside viewing is preferred, it's possible to ride a bike from Sausalito to the viewing areas. Other benefits to keeping your boat in Sausalito include being close to the famous wine country, redwood forests, and being a short walk from the San Francisco ferry. Could it get any better?
