General Details
The Intrepid 289 is a sophisticated walk around fisherman whose sleek appearance, roomy interior and excellent on-deck seating will appeal to those seeking a family-style fishing boat with weekend cruising capabilities. She was constructed on a high-tech strong but lightweight hull with a stepped bottom surface for improved offshore performance. Her relatively wide beam results in some excellent accommodations below; better than one might normally expect in a walk around this size. Aside from berths for two, the 289 boasts an enclosed head with shower, a serviceable galley with sink and cooler, and three opening cabin ports for ventilation. An L-shaped lounge seat is standard just forward of the helm console, and the cockpit is fitted with fish boxes, 2 live wells, dry storage and a wide helm seat. Additional features include a bow pulpit and anchor locker for- ward, wide side decks with sturdy handrails, and at small dive platform. A very dry ride in a chop, twin 225-hp Mercury outboards will cruise easily at 30 knots and reach a top speed in the neighbor- hood of 45 knots.
