Broker's Remarks
SUNNY DAYS' owners have cruised extensively, since 2002, always updating the yacht and following a high level of maintenance and keeping her constantly waxed and spanking clean from bow to stern. With 2 Caterpillar main engines, 2 Northern Lights Generators, 4 independent split system Cruisair A/C and heating units, a high output water maker and very effective electronic NAIAD stabilizers, SUNNY DAYS offers the highest level of redundancy, independence and comfort for long distance or remote cruises. The attractive traditional pilothouse profile, two queen berth stateroom layout, large fly bridge, beautiful joinery work and interior, along with a safe Portuguese bridge, covered walkways, dual pilothouse doors, easy access to the swim platform, all make this yacht a premier choice for a cruising couple. A guest couple can be accommodated very comfortably, and there is even a convertible bunk for an occasional 5 th or a 6 th person (or kids) plus the salon sofa for the 7 th if your guests just don't want to go home. All Grand Alaskans are very solidly built with a full fiberglass hull. The 53' GA is comparable to a 55' Fleming, but at a much more attractive price for a 2002 model, with the same high quality of construction and the beautiful joinery work Taiwanese boat builders are famous for. There are no teak decks to maintain on a Grand Alaskan. The two dependable CAT Diesels will drive the boat very economically at trawler speeds. Lots of power is available to speed up if needed, to run out weather or to get to an anchorage before sunset. SUNNY DAYS is in excellent turn-key condition and can be taken for a long distance cruise any time. The owners are stepping up to a larger yacht.
Vessel Walkthrough
Starting at the stern, the aft deck has a molded in double bench and additional room for a table and chairs. Double doors open up into the salon. The interior features satin-finished teak paneling throughout, black granite countertops in galley and all heads, teak and holly flooring in pilothouse, galley and heads This Grand Alaskan was built for a cruising couple who added additional attractive decor including teak blinds. The salon is furnished with a sofa and twin easy chairs with a foldout, hi/lo varnished teak table. The galley is forward with abundant storage space including overhead cabinets and is well arranged for functional usage while aboard. The pilothouse is up four steps, with port and starboard wing doors and a comfortable L-shaped settee to port with a folding table large enough for dinner or lunch for four while underway. This table can be lowered and allows the settee to be converted into a large bunk for off duty night watch, or it can serve as a "3 rd stateroom” for occasional extra guests.  Access to the fly bridge is starboard by teak steps with a handrail. The large, spacious fly bridge has an L-shaped bench and an adjustable table for lunch or happy hour underway. Also starboard and forward in the pilothouse is the stairwell down to the accommodations. The amidships master stateroom has a centerline queen bed, ample his & hers closets and drawers with the head and  spacious stall shower to starboard.
