General Details

Twin GM 871N diesels; 8 kw. Westerbeke generator w/approximately 350 hrs.(1994); three stateroom/three head layout; dinghy; starboard engine (1983); well maintained with winter work each year of $5,000; dual racors (2003); engines have block heaters and fresh water fittings to flush after running; decks fully sanded to original primer and painted (2005); hardtop removed and redone; dodger board on sides brand new; teak rails and wing walls brand new; dunnage boxes redone and painted; all forward fittings removed and re-chromed; GPS (2005); forward and galley windows replaced (2001); aft interior redone (2001/'02); new carpet throughout. Maintenance, Upgrades and Improvements Made Since 1997:

 

1997:

• Rewire all 110 electric with new wiring, GFCI outlets and breaker boards

• New 12 volt breaker board for house lights

 

2000-2001:

• Core bottom of Balsa (used to 1972 by Hatteras in bottoms) from Chines to Strigners in a 'U' pattern from behind the engine rooms all the way around the aft. Replaced with divinicell system and all new fiberglass.

• New grounding plates and engine thru hulls

• Cored Transom below water line, replaced with fiberglass

• In aft area where rudders are, wrapped fiberglass from transom under bottom beyond rudders

• Solid fiberglass used in areas of struts and intermediate struts as well

• All unnecessary thru hulls eliminated in bottom so that only the engines, gen set, a/c systems, holding tanks, forward raw water head and 2 holding tank overboards remain

• Peeled bottom (no blisters), epiglassed and barrier coated

 

2001:

• New helm windows, all new custom structural supports at helm

• New galley windows, Solid fiberglass wrap around galley windows

• All new subflooring system aft of engine rooms

 

2001-2002:

• Vacuflush heads with san-x system installed aft with 2 heads Raritan Sea-era head with Lectra San installed forward w/ electric flush

• Custom Laundry fit-out in former hall guest head

• Rear 2 staterooms with custom fit-out - queen aft, double in guest

• New fiberglass shower in master head

• Custom designed shower-in head installed in guest stateroom

• New carpets throughout

• Original front hatch rehabilitated

• New 220 electric service for cook top and dryer

• New 12 volt wiring and service for all heads installed

• New fwd stateroom custom foam and bed cushions

• New guest stateroom custom foam and bed cushions

 

2004-2005:

• Aft deck escape hatch removed, deck re-cored where needed

• Bomar escape hatch installed in place of center port light master

• Painted decks - took down to original Hatteras primer removing all built up layers of paint and epoxy

 

2008:

• New aft deck CruiseAir air conditioning

• New galley CruiseAir air conditioning

• Custom Aft Deck enclosure with screens

• New fly bridge wind screen with stainless grab bars

• Rehab fly bridge Bimini structure

• Refit forward stateroom walls by removing wall paper, varnish wood

• Install side wall system where no walls existed under wallpaper

• KVH satellite television installation

• New radar/GPS

 

2010:

• Replace splash rails with custom mahogany splash rails

• New custom built scuppers added on aft deck

• Rebuilt horns

• Took fly bridge decks down to original Hatteras primer removing all built up layers in preparation for full paint in 2011

 

2011:

• Full Awlgrip paint, add custom built pulpit and electric anchor system

• Core decks where needed, jack up fly bridge and rehab with original Hatteras bedding between deck and console

• All new canvas protection covers for pulpit, spotlight, windlass, helm windows

• Note - painted in 1994 and hull taken down to original Hatteras paint coat, so not multiple layers
