Specifications

Accommodations
The Grand Banks 36 Classic has long been the benchmark for any true deep-water cruising vessel of this size.  She is a sea-worthy performer that provides an equal measure of accomodations, efficiency, safety, and beauty.  Based on the famous Kenneth Smith design, Grand Banks built 1,135 36's over a span of more than three decades.  "Quest" is hull number  1,042 of the 36's and exhibits all of the characteristics that made this model so widely popular. "Quest" has seen the same loving care by her current owner of over 11 years.  Numerous updates have been made over the years and the boat has always been maintained by a Grand Banks Factory Authorized Service Center here on the Chesapeake Bay.  As one first approaches the vessel they can instantly appreciate the classic lines of the boat as well as some GB trademarks like the wide teak swim platform and walkaround side decks.  A high gloss varnish teak transom sets the tone of a gentleman's yacht along with varnished teak cap and hand rails.  Moving onboard you have to be impressed by the ease of getting around for line handling or anchoring.  The wide side decks benefit from a hip high rail height outboard and well placed hand holds making for safe passage even in rough weather.  The flybridge and boat deck are both well designed and "Quest" benefits from a 12volt tender lift winch making for an easy launch of her 10' Achilles RIB tender.  The flybridge has an abundance of seating and the cushions all have updated premium fabrics.  There is a navy blue canvas bimini to provide protection from the sun and the helm offers a commanding view all around. A Garmin 5212 Color GPS Chartplotter makes navigation a breeze! Inside, "Quest" has an unbelievably roomy layout for a 36 foot boat.  Featuring two private staterooms (fore and aft) as well as two heads.  Handsome golden Burmese teak is used liberally throughout and the craftsmanship can be seen in items like the teak parquet cabin sole, teak yacht table, bar cabinet, helm station, etc.  The salon area features a L-shaped settee updated with an Ultrasuede fabric.  The galley is forward and has an abundance of teak cabinets and provides a chef everything they would need to cook a great on board meal all while having a terrific view out the surrounding scenery.  The lower helm has the classic hand crafted teak GB steering wheel, convenient helm door access to the side deck, and is a great space to escape foul weather or simply enjoy an air conditioned perch to command the boat from. "Quest" forward stateroom has a v-berth with filler making it a large double when needed.  This stateroom has its own locker and drawer space as well as head with updated Vacuflush System.   The master stateroom is aft and is quite large for a 36 foot boat.  This stateroom features a wide single berth or reading lounge to port and a queen berth to starboard.  The master head also has an updated Vacuflush toilet as well as a stall shower. The engine room on "Quest" is an absolute pleasure to view as good maintenance practice is clearly evident and like all GB's the mechanicals are well laid out.  Engine room access is easy with multiple salon floor panels enabled to come up and the 135hp Sabre Lehmans providing the perfect footprint to allow good all around access to the motors and generator.
