General Details

This 17' 1948 Deluxe Runabout is fantastic testament to the quality, Chris Craft put into building their boats. This gorgeous ride has been housed indoors by the seller who has owned it for the last 9 years. It's always been covered with a foam pad between the canvas and the mahogany deck.

The planking above the waterline is traditional Seam and Batten mahogany construction. The hull now has a contemporary plywood wet surface with a fiberglass overlay. This sheath protects the wood hull from deterioration and water intrusion.

All deckware is chrome metal in meticulous 1948 detail. The deckware includes the cleats, passive engine spaces ventilation cowls and ports, hatch handles, piano hinges, fuel filler plates and caps, navigation light, stern flagpole socket and single exhaust flange.

The boat has two cockpits to seat your passengers in comfort. Both cockpits have a rubber overlay for the cockpit sole. The soles are removable to gain access to the bilge. Beautiful red leather cushions, seats and crash pads adorn the cockpit.

This is an epic boat that will turn heads where ever you go.

The condition of this vessel appears to be average to good for a 1948 Mahogany hull. This beautiful piece of art has a couple of minor flaws. It appears that in a couple of spots on both the port and starboard planking seams, right in front of the transom have dried out a little bit. There also appears to be a drying crack in the caulk on the starboard bow. a quarter size nick has been scraped in the transom as well. (In pics) Everything else looks gorgeous. The chrome shines, the upholstery is fantastic, the finish is beautiful, the engine compartment is almost immaculate and per the seller, it runs like a dream.
