General Details

The very popular 38 Combi is a no-nonsense fishing boat. With her over-built solid fiberglass hull and 18-degree deadrise, she is meant to go crashing around in big seas when most others stay home. She features state-of-the-art electronics, all the right fishing goodies, plus a huge 120 square-foot cockpit. Recent rebuilds on her reliable & fuel-efficient 6-71s sweeten the pot. While she is a striking boat in her own right, her grey hull/red accent striping and red coaming paddings are truly eye-catching. Attractively priced for a quick sale. Easy to see and Highly Recommended.

Vessel Walkthrough
Sleeps 4, double berth (vee with filler) forward with settee and storage below. Directly aft is galley to port followed by enclosed head/shower. Across is convertible dinette with storage above and below. Cabin has teak and holly sole, teak trim and abundant storage throughout. Up 5 steps to helm area with L-shaped lounge seat to port with helm area across. Additional storage under lounge and helm seats. Helm/bridge area steps down to large cockpit.

Galley
The galley is to port; four lockers and five drawers provide ample storage. Even without the overhead light and the freestanding adjacent lamp, there is enough natural light to see what you're doing. The stainless steel sink is oversized for large pots & frypans, the Norcold freezer-reefer is big enough for weekends, and the two-burner Ceran cooktop plus Princess microwave oven will do breakfast and light-duty dinners. No worries over spills as the sole here is teak & holly as throughout the rest of the belowdecks areas.

Bridge deck and helm station
Very notable are the red vinyl w/ white piping cushions for the L-shaped settee, starboard bench, and helm seating; all have ample storage beneath. The sole is teak and there is a hatch in the middle to access the engine room. This area is enclosed with Eisenglass and there is a dedicated air conditioning system for a rainy summer day. The main electrical distribution panels are behind the smoked plexi doors to the left of the companionway. The top is vinyl over pipe framing with good headroom for tall people. There are two gun-slit windshield openings for fresh air, plus there are numerous U-zips in the Eisenglass panels as well.

The helm station offers a largish seat for one with a footrest, useful in a seaway. The wheel, clutches & throttles, switches & gauges all fall easily to hand.
  • Panish clutches/throttles are ball bearing-lined cables--the best you could buy in the '80s.
  • VDO gauges: oil pressure, water temp, gear temps, volts, fuel--again, the best quality.
  • Pyrometers: early warning systems when the mains run too hot.
  • Flo-Scans: fuel management at its finest.
  • Trolling valve controls.
  • Emergency stops
  • Beer can holder: vital.
