Present owner has 50 years yachting experience and has made this yacht into the most well found 48'/53’ LRC available.
The only trawler in the 50’ range better than a 48’ Hatteras LRC is a 53’ Hatteras LRC. While others are extending their 48s, Playpen
is the only one completed. 11” was also added to the swim platform (really appreciated at floating docks, boarding the dinghy, and with
kids swimming). Playpen does not need painting, and the fuel tanks are clean—always! Window frames are like new, and the interior teak
is outstanding. The extension yielded a large lazerette which holds 2 full size mountain bikes (assembled), 2 fiberglass 100 gallon tanks used for water,
but could be used for fuel.
Fuel consumption as experienced by owner:
.5 gpnm @ 7 knots
.66 gpnm @ 8 knots
1.1 gpnm @ 9 knots
The only reason Playpen is available is because the owner is looking at a larger trawler.
