General Details

“Valkyrie” is a unique Cal 34’ due to many thoughtful custom features that increase the utilization of space and safety of this vessel. Starting with the topside custom features, when you go forward to raise or lower the main during rough seas or a calm day you have two stainless steel stands beside the mast to lean on to secure your footing. The hull is protected by a beautiful custom teak rub rail that is capped off with stainless steel.  Moving down below, the chef on aboard will be pleased to find the custom teak counter and shelves that not only adds counter space but adds tremendous storage space not found on boats this size. Utilizing the same teak as the manufacturer, these modifications are so well integrated into the boat you would never known they weren’t standard from the manufacturer. The table was also converted to a fixed table and shelving added behind the settees to make the layout of the salon more user friendly. A standard feature that is note worthy is “Valkyrie” has a spacious V-berth that comfortably accommodates two. If you are over 6 feet, this is a V-berth that you must check out. Come take a look very nice boat for the money.

The owner has moved up to a 50ft ketch

As you enter “Valkyrie” to the starboard and aft you will find a quarter berth that accommodates an adult. The quarter berth has two cushions which provide easy access to the two storage lockers located underneath. Running along the starboard side of the quarter berth there is additional storage space created behind the short retaining wall. To the rear of the quarter berth there is access to the stern lazarette where you can store items not frequently needed. Engine access is provided in multiple locations. The companionway steps can be removed to access the engine. Through a door in the galley, you can easily reach the engine water intake valve to turn it on and off. The port lazarette offers further engine access and battery access, while there is also a sliding panel in the quarter berth that offers additional access. Moving forward of the quarter berth starboard there is a chart table with the electrical panel, VHF, GPS and chart plotter. The chart table top has been modified to open towards starboard which makes access quick and easy. Below the chart table are two drawers. Port of the chart table is the user friendly U shaped galley with storage space that rivals much larger sailboats. This galley is sure to impress and make preparing meals on board a breeze due to all the available counter space and storage space offered by the custom counter. Unique to “Valkyrie” you will find ample counter space, 2 shelves above the counter, wine glass rack, 2 drawers below the counter with one deep drawer perfect for multiple pots, and storage underneath the drawers that is accessible from a door at the end of the counter. You will ask why the manufacturer didn’t think of this as a way to increase the functionality of the boat. Along with the custom counter, standard with the Cal 34’ is a shelf with sliding doors for storage behind the 2 burner stove and 3 small drawers for utensils below the sink. Adjacent to the galley is the salon with a fixed table to port along with a wrap around settee. This settee extends to an opening underneath the custom counter which allows enough space for an adult size berth. Behind each settee is custom shelving. The starboard settee has a lee cloth that can be utilized as a sea berth. On the starboard bulkhead there is a propane heater to keep you warm. Next you will find to port a nice size hanging locker with an opening port. Directly across from the hanging locker is the head. The head has a large counter with sink providing you with ample space to comfortably take care of your personal care needs. No worries about where to put things while you are using them. Underneath the counter are two opening doors for storage. Behind the head is a shelf with sliding doors. Plus, there is an opening medicine cabinet with additional storage area. There are two opening ports for ventilation. As you enter the V berth to starboard are 3 drawers with a small counter top to place items. Behind the counter top there is another storage area with sliding doors. On each side of the V berth there is a shelf with custom netting to provide an excellent storage area for clothes, etc. The netting maximizes how much you can store, plus it keeps your items from shifting while underway. There is an opening port, hatch and solar vent. The V berth is huge and will provide even the tallest person along with their mate sweet dreams at anchor. Underneath the V berth is additional storage lockers and the water tank. We invite you to come on board and see what a truly remarkable sailboat “Valkyrie” is for a 34 foot boat. The multiple customized features are well thought out and add value. In this price range, you will be hard pressed to find a boat of equal quality and value to provide you with the comfort and sailing capabilities offered by “Valkyrie”. She is ready to provide her forth owner an adventure of a lifetime.
