General Details

This boat is a remake of the 28 Bertram. Jim Wynn the designer was a friend of Richard Bertram and Raymond Hunt. After Mr. Bertram witnessed Raymond Hunt winning all the Nassau races with his wave smashing 22 degree dead rise he contracted Hunt to build the famous Betram 28. Wynn was fond of the design but felt it could use some improvements. The 29 Phoenix sports the same 22 degree deadrise butt adds more room in the cabin and cockpit. The Wynn design does not have engine boxes taking up the cockpit space and the extra room in the cabin keeps the family happy, while still remaining a hardcore pocket sport fishing vessel.

This vessel was personally inspected and photographed by: Greg Stanton Regional Sales Executive POP Yachts International (Houston & Galveston) This vessel was on fresh water up until 2009 when it came to Texas from Lake Ontario, New York. The interior is in very good condition with no mold or mildew and a fresh clean smell to it. The designer came up with a very smart layout for sure. Step inside and you will see what I mean. The exterior including the bottom could use a good detailing and some minor work. Gauges and hardware replacement along with the addition of some updated electronics would indeed make this a proud vessel to own.
