General Details

Carver's 32 Montego sport cruiser was built using the hull originally designed for the 32 Mariner - a wide, flat bottom affair with a fairly sharp entry, shallow keel, and solid fiberglass construction. While not known specifically for efficient design, it does have the advantage of offering considerable beam with which to work. The Montego combines a sportboat profile with a comfortable interior layout, and the result is a practical weekend family cruiser!

Her full-width floorplan is spacious for a boat of this type and features a mid-stateroom beneath the bridgedeck. The galley is forward in the salon, and a double entry head with stall shower provides private access from the forward stateroom. The cabin is attractively decorated with textured wall coverings, Formica counters and stylish fabrics.

There is a flush mount rod holder in the stern on the port and starboard sides. There is also a rail for rod holders.

- Cabin in great shape. - Exterior needs a bit of cosmetic work, but overall good shape. - It does not have a camper top. - When we bought the boat in 1996 it came from a bank auction. The local Carver dealer replaced the carpet. - It is fresh water cooled. Rarely do you find a Carver of this age with closed cooling. Since I have owned the boat it is winterized wet with antifreeze. Each engine has a hose attachment to allow circulation of liquid. This also allows the engines to be run out of the water. - In 1998 the bottom was stripped and a 2000/2001 barrier coat was applied. Every 2/3 years I wipe it down and put a light coat of bottom paint on.. I have not done this in 3 years. - The refrigerator is original. The compressor was recharged 5/6 years ago and it has been fine since. - The air conditioner was upgraded in 2002 with a Coastal Climate programmable digital control added. - The ice maker was new in 2009 I believe. - The curtains were custom made 4 years ago. - The dinette has had new Formica installed 5 years ago. - The forward birth has a custom made inter spring mattress. It is not the block of foam. - The cockpit seats were all recovered in 2009.
