General Details

1980 31c Silverton Flybridge convertible, Finishing in the final stages of a custom rebuild.
Engines: twin closed -cooled 318 Chrysler Marine Engines.
that say 1000 hrs on the clock of the boat,
Gear Velvet drive with a 1:1 ratio
Walter V-drive with a 2.05:1 reduction gear box (model RV-20D).
Shafts are 1 1/4 stainless steel with the PYI dripless shaft seal system.
Props 4 blade 18x19, barely used,

All new front end components for BOTH engines:

New Timing chains and gears....Melling 40140
New Circulation pumps for the Anti-freeze in the engine cooling system
New Arco 1-wire Marine Alternators...40112
New front main Seals with the timing cover gasket sets
Rebuilt sea water pumps, on the port side is a Jabsco on the Starboard side a Sherwood G7-B(this has a major rebuild kit which includes all new bearings/seals/impeller and a new pressed on pulley to match, The Jabsco has a new impeller. Checked and working properly.
All threads chased and new grade 8 zinc bolts where necessary
All reuseable parts were sandblasted/primed and painted with Chrysler Blue engine enamel
The expansion tanks which house New 160 thermostats/gaskets/sealant have been restored/primed and painted...This is basically your radiator where you fill the engine with coolant.
Belts and hoses and New SS hose clamps, doubled up when needed or not

**Basically 2 brand new front ends with 1 hr run time on each motor**

The Ignition System has had:
Both distributor completely rebuilt,new springs, polished weights
New Mallory Cap... painted red
New Magstar Marine wires...yellow
New rotor
New coil painted
new ecm and ballast
new plugs...NGK
This is an Electronic ignition system...works great, timed

**Rebuilt distributors**

The Intake system has been completely redone with :

New Fel-pro Marine gasket sets with cross-over passages blocked off as required
Sandblasted primed and painted 3 degree carb base cast iron intakes
2 Brand New Edelbrock 1409 4 barrel Marine carbs fresh out the box(modified for this application for pvc hose with brand new ethanol free gas/stabil mix installed 1 month ago) topped with 2 brand new K&N Marine S.S. flame arrestors with breather hose fittngs
Carbs preliminary tuned
New breathers and pvc

**The carbs and K&N arresstors cost $1200.00 not modified**Extra matching intake ready for install 2 part epoxy primer,chrysler blue,shrinkwrapped**


The Exhaust System has been completly redone/redesigned with :

4) Brand new primed and painted Osco 826 Chrysler marine logs, epoxy primed and high heat chrysler blue engine enamel...These are 275 per side with the S.S. stud/kit
4) Brand new 20 degree elbows epoxy primed, SS plugs mounting kits/gaskets copper coat gasket sealant...120 per elbow gasket kit
4) Centek Vernatone mufflers,1 brand new, others fine, painted topside poly.... these run 200 per
All new high heat Trident blue silicone exhaust hose....$250 for a 6' piece
This is a 3 inch system with flappers and SS thru hulls
All new heater hose for the plumbing of the system
A raw water manifold flush system has been designed/installed for flushing of fresh water through the raw water(salt)cooled manifolds and risers after a trip or when necessary to prolong the life of the osco 3 year warranty exhaust components...only 1 hour time on each system for purposes of checking work/leaks...NONE

Estimated $2k on the parts alone...

The redesigned motor/transmission mounts included:

Either 1/2" aluminum angle or 1/4" 304 stainless steel angle,5 SS 1/2" bolts per mount
upgraded to 4 brand new double mount velvet drive mounts on the transmissions
4) brand new r&d front engine mounts
backer brackets that hang on the top of the stringer
Estimated 1500 in parts alone

Walter V-drive work: The engines sit further back and allow more cabin room and also isolates the engine room from the living/breathing room, the bulkhead has also been sound proofed and insulated.

Pulled the cap inspected cleaned primed with interprotect 2000 in the water jacket area, cleaned oil tubes, new gasket, copper coat, Custom SS shifter bracket installed all new grade 8 zinc bolts or SS
Extra Walter gear box for spare parts RV-26D...this is a working box which would sell for 2500-3K new

I haven't been able to post more information yet on the other jobs I did
but here's a short list till I can get more detailed

redesigned the rudder system to make it stronger
redesigned the cockpit drain system to drain better(recessed fittings all new fittings, strainers, SS thru hulls
moved the 40 gal fresh water tank forward in the boat and out of the engine bay
installed a 12 gal hot water heater under the sink, used to have a 6 gal(you can take a shower and do the dishes!!)
so really you hold 52 gallons, had to build a floor for the HWH and is easier to get to
All new plumbing for the pressurized system(clear braided hose)
Added Brazilian cherry flooring and wainscoating out of 7/16 engineered t&g,so its not as heavy and more durable to the climate changes of a boat, its been installed for over 3 years and still looks new, always protected
basically needs the finish trim pieces installed, already milled waitng on the poly and the trim man
Recovered Brazilian cherry that matches perfectly from "off the hook" on Sullivans Island
Black laminated poplar birch in the redesigned kitchen/galley,2 burner stove/cutting board/regular 120 minifridge for now ready for a Ac/Dc dometic or similar, its the taller of the dorm style fridges
Added new GFI outlets one with an automatic nite light with the new screwless face plate satin nickel finish outlets from lowes 30 per outlet 10 per cover
recovered the v-berth cushions with sunbrella fabric never been slept always covered
19" white Samsung Flatscreen with ant.
Added Ipe structural components in the engine room for deck support and then 2 part polyed them

Battery system has been upgraded to:

Switches inside instead of in the engine room
all new heavy gauge battery cables
1) deep cycle per engine and a 4D marine deep cycle house(3 bank system)
2) You can switch both engines to the house if needed to charge it up or get more power

New 3 bank Mastervolt 12/40/3charger installed with 6 AWG output leads,all new wiring,50 ANL fuse block per battery bank, hardwired in to AC fuse panel 600 in parts....great charger...40 amp

New Dometic flat surface 2 burner stove, not installed, the one in their works and has a nice cutting board top, thinking about options 500 stove

Bow pulpit in its last stages of complete repair, Mas expoxy and layers of treated plywood, huge SS roller and electric windlass with a Hooker deep set....mounted...epoxied to the foredeck...primed, windlass primed and painted
