General Details

This Maxum is an excellent example of a roomy family express cruiser whose modern styling and expansive interior make her a lot of boat for the money. This is a well-equipped and well-maintained boat. It features plenty of open deck space along with a spacious interior that is both functional and attractive.

The boat is built on a fiberglass deep-V hull with an integrated swim platform and a molded bow pulpit. The integrated transom platform is complete with telescoping ladder, fresh water hot/cold shower, and fender storage. Moving into the cockpit area, there is a large, comfortable U-shaped lounge seat located to starboard and a cockpit bar with sink and faucet along with ample storage underneath located across from the lounge on the port side. There are molded-in steps leading up to the generously appointed helm station. The wraparound windshield protects the fully equipped helm station. Within the custom molded panel there is an array of controls and a polished burl wood wheel. The radar arch is located behind the helm with an added digital TV antenna. The boat is outfitted with a wide-array of electronics. The windshield is walk-through with a couple of large sunchairs that sit on the foredeck where the sunpad used to be located. The entire cockpit is enclosed with a full camper canvas. The owner recently replaced the back Eisenglass on the aft canvas curtain.

Underneath the cockpit lounge is the engine room. The boat is outfitted with twin Mercruiser I/O's that will certainly get you where you want to go in a hurry! The engines are fresh water cooled and have almost 400 hours on the twin Bravo II outdrives and engines - this is a VERY low amount of hours. There is a 7.0KW Westerbeke generator with its own battery to the starboard side in the engine room. Additionally, the engine room is outfitted with an engine heater to keep everything heated when the cold season hits. There are two large house batteries along with a battery switch located in a cabinet in the cockpit.

Moving belowdecks, Maxum designers created a very open, comfortable, and spacious interior. The floorplan is arranged with a convertible U-shaped lounge aft and a double berth in the forward stateroom. Both cabins have fold-away accordion privacy curtains. One of the first things I noticed was the plentiful amount of storage and headroom throughout the cabin. This is a very beamy family cruiser. There are three overhead hatches and six opening ports which provide excellent lighting and ventilation. Upon entering the cabin, immediately in front of you to the portside, the fully equipped clean and precisely designed galley has a two-burner alcohol/electric cooktop, stainless sink, fridge/freezer, and microwave. Similar to the entire cabin area, there is, not-surprisingly, a large amount of storage throughout the galley. Located across the galley is an Ultraleather settee surrounding the dinette. This dinette also converts to a dual-person sleeping berth. This boat can easily sleep 5-6 people comfortably. The cabin is also outfitted with a reverse-cycle marine air & heat unit.

The head is located immediately across from the galley and includes a stowage cabinet and shelf, overhead lighting, mirror, sink, and a large molded shower, and toilet paper holder. The sink faucet also serves as the pullout shower. There is a manual marine head, manual flush toilet with an ample amount of capacity in the waste holding tank.

Overall, this is a spacious, beamy family cruiser that shows well and has never been a live-aboard. The boat is in great shape and is an excellent example of a well-cared for aft-cabin family cruiser that is priced to move! Every detail on this boat contributes to a higher level of owner comfort.
