General Details

The C&C-30 is a great yacht and is one of the best designed boats ever built on the great lakes. George Hinterhoeller (famed C&C builder) made some wonderful boats, and the C&C's have a loyal following! Race, cruise, nice accommodations down below, comfortable cockpit, lazy days sailing. the MK1 can do it all. In production for 12 years longer than any other C&C design. She was built in Niagara on the Lake in 1972 and has been on Lake Ontario for her entire life. Two boat owner's in her life. This boat is in exceptional condition for her age and is a very fast boat. All C&C's of this vintage have solid hand laid hulls (no cores) and are extremely well built. The boat has a fin keel / rudder design for amazing handling characteristics. She is a stiff boat and very forgiving in heavy weather. The boat has good headroom below and can easily sleep 5 adults. With a SA/Disp of 18.42 & SA of 459 sf the C&C 30 is a performance oriented, yet they make wonderful cruising boats too.

Down below the boat has a forward cabin sleeps 2 in a V-berth with filler piece. Overhead opening hatch provides fresh air and light. Storage is along hullside shelves and in an anchor locker at the forepeak. Just aft is the enclosed head with a folding door for privacy from the salon. A single basin sink provides fresh water via a manual pump. Storage is above in a hullside slider cabinet, in a cabinet below the sink. Additional storage is in a hanging locker across to stbd.

Midship is the main salon with 6'2" headroom. A dinette to port converts to a 6'6" long double berth when the table is lowered. To stbd is a 6'6" long settee with storage behind the seat. Storage is below the dinette settees and on a hullside shelf to port.

The galley is conveniently located to port and stbd of the companionway. A single basin sink to stbd provides fresh water via a manual pump, alongside a very clean and recently installed 2-burner stove with storage underneath. To port is a deep ice box with a bin that slides on a track for organizing cold goods. Storage is behind hullside sliders to port and stbd, in a cabinet below the sink, in 2 drawers and a cabinet to port and in a bin below the counter next to the icebox.

The C&C is set up for club racing with a PHRF of 162, but current owner really didn't race her hard. It's been lightly used, with just a few weekend regattas & occasional Wed night beer can racing. A nice sail inventory for racing, or cruising. Owner just doesn't have time to use her, and looking for someone else to enjoy her. If your looking for a classic, mid size sailboat, this vessel is worth a look!
