General Details

This 1966 30’ Pearson/Wanderer Hull #15 located in Waterford, CT is a full-keel shallow draft cruising boat that is as comfortable as it is rugged and easy to sail - even for one person. She is sloop rigged with a roller furling and a joy to sail with the huge cockpit and the wide decks. With a solid fiberglass hull and heavy displacement (9800 lbs), the boat is nearly bullet-proof and very sea-kindly. The Rigging is oversized for a 30 footer and the sail plan is adequate for winds from 5 to 40 knots. This Wanderer comes equipped with a new (1995) Yanmar 2 cylinder 18 hp diesel with approx. 100 hours. The boat was designed by Bill Shaw and built by Grumman-Allied Pearson in 1967. There were approximately 177 Wanderers built which makes this a real classic.

A true plastic classic, this boat was owned, sailed and lovingly maintained by the same couple for 40 years! She has traveled up and down the East coast from Nova Scotia to the Florida Keys. Due to its famous sea keeping abilities offshore and its shallow draft for inshore use, this boat is an all-around true liveaboard ready to tackle long distances.

Conventional floor plan with V-berth forward; aft and to Port is the Head, and a Hanging Locker is directly opposite to Starboard; central and to Port is a Settee, convertible to a berth; directly opposite and Fore-and-aft is the Galley; a small quarter berth is aftermost and to Port, tucked beneath the cockpit. Some new teak cabinetry; new interior paint; new carpeted hullsides. New lavatory plumbing and pump; re-built, like new marine head.

Accommodations include a private forward cabin with storage, a dinette galley along the starboard side with a sink, and ice box; a separate nav. desk and a quarter berth. There is a Force Ten kerosene heater to keep the chill off.

Sails include main, roller furling jib 170%; three blade fixed prop. There is an auto-pilot with remote and Furuno radar.

Perfect for the individual or couple who wants to cruise and has a limited budget, "MISTY" is probably the best value in a boat this size anywhere and will retain its value for many years to come!! There is simply no better entry level cruiser on the market!
