The current owners purchased the boat in August 2013 and have meticulously gone through the boat so it is ready to cruise and fish. The owners intended to cruise the Gulf coast and have worked for the last 5 months to make sure the boat is safe, trust worthy, and dependable. . ..not to mention beautiful. They made the decision to move up in size to accommodate not only a captain but also guests for cruising. If this were spring the owners would feel confident to head to South Padre, Florida, or the Flower Gardens. The 1980 Hatteras sport fish was the last year that Hatteras produced this classic sport fishing boat. This boat is structurally a tank which was built at a time when longevity and durability were more important than speed. This boat is said to be one of those special boats that "raises fish". Don't forget the underwater fish lights. . .they don't hurt either.
This is a beautiful fishing and cruising boat with some of the most reliable and serviceable engines (12v71TI) ever utilized by Hatteras. These are durable work horse engines that have been rebuilt once and if the need ever comes they are affordable to rebuild. This is critical when you look at the cost of rebuilds of 16V Detroits or engines like MTU. These engines have been fully surveyed in August 2013 and are available for review. From the top down this boat is custom and in excellent shape not only mechanically and electronically but interior has been completely redone.
BRIDGE: The bridge has new Garmin electronics including GPS and Radar. The bridge also includes auto pilot, depth sounders, 2 marine radios, remote spotlight, and new bench seating cushions. The canvas and isinglass is in good shape and fully functional (zippers all work and rollup panels work). The bridge has beautiful captain chairs and a soft top. New gauges have been installed on the boat. The bridge gives access to the tower.
COCKPIT: The cockpit has a beautiful fighting chair, live well, refrigerator, sink with cutting board, and 2 huge fish boxes with macerators. An Eskimo ice chipper is going to be removed by the owner and put on their next boat but can be negotiated separately. It has new cockpit pads and a cockpit door.
SALON: The interior is custom with granite throughout, custom cabinets, custom sofas that allow you to not only take great naps but they are heavy duty as well as comfortable. You can cruise at 18 to 20 knots offshore, turn on your satellite TV, listen to your Bose sound system, sit back and have a conversation all while you lounge in your custom sofas. In the middle is a custom combo dining and coffee table with hydraulic lift. The salon is highlighted by custom murals giving you a feeling you are anchoring in the Keys.
MASTER BED: Queen size bed, new TV (satellite), closet, cabinets, and storage. New mattress recently installed and NEVER USED. Master bath has electric head, granite, with full shower. Easily accommodating 6'3" owner. V-BIRTH: Bunk beds with closet, storage, anchor locker and access to guest bath with shower.
KITCHEN AND DINETTE: The kitchen has seating for 4, oven, cook top, custom under counter refrig/freezer under cutting board top. The majority of the countertop is granite as used in the rest of the boat. The floors are custom wood floors in that area. There is an under counter stainless steel sink.
ENGINE ROOM: 12v71TI which have been rebuilt once. Then engines have a full survey taken done six months ago when purchased by current owner. There are: 2 generators, 2 air conditioners, 4 new bilge pumps of 6 total on boat, new 40 amp battery charger, water pressure from 12 volt system and 110 system, electrical connections all protected with corrosion X heavy duty; new engine strainers, 12 volt batteries and charging system, 32 volt batteries and starting system for engines, and 24 volt system for bridge. . ...too many things to list. Wolverine block heaters have been recently installed so that you never have cold starts, never tax your starters and they start instantly. The shafts have dripless shaft seals. All of the batteries have been tested and are in good shape. The 24 volt system batteries were replaced. The boat is equipped with a water maker that although installed has never been started until now.
DECK AND HULL
HULL AND PAINT: The boat was repainted approximately 5 years ago. The bottom was stripped and had splash rails install and the entire bottom of the hull was epoxied. This process not only gives you a drier ride, more lift but minimizes blistering. The zincs have been recently replaced with no evidence of any electrolysis problems when the boat was quick hauled and surveyed in August of 2013. The props and shafts are in great shape. There are 3 fuel tanks with the generators always feeding from the front tank and the engines capable of running off of any of the tanks.
DECK: The boat is currently equipped with a davit arm and chalks. The dingy is not offered for sale and will be removed from the boat along with custom chalks. A set of generic chalks will be provided with the boat. The front deck has railing. The Windless is not operational.
1. Dingy and dingy chalks specifically engineered for this dingy (generic set of chalks will be provided but not installed)
2. Eskimo ice chipper (subject to negotiation separately)
3. Personal items.
4. Boating supplies and equipment not permanently affixed to the boat.
5. Exterior deck chairs.
