- The Gulfstar 37 has a very spacious interior and a very large cockpit. While this boat is only 37' long it has a 32' waterline and therefore it's volume is approximately the same as a boat with a 40' overall length. A 16000 BTU A/C system keeps you cool and comfortable. Beginning at the stern, the cockpit of the Gulfstar 37 is relatively square. It can seat comfortably six or more. This 37 is one of the newer boats with the traveller forward of the dodger rather than in the cockpit. There are 3 large cockpit lockers, 1 on either side and a smaller locker aft. The propane tank is also underneath the seat on the port side. The companionway is slightly offset to starboard. Going forward from the companionway we go down four steps into the main cabin, where the outstanding custom teak planked ceiling comes to life! The navigator's station is immediately to starboard at the base of the companionway ladder. There is an L-shaped nav station with good desktop space and an electrical panel on the aft facing bulkhead. Opposite to port is a large U-shaped galley with 2 stainless steel sinks located on the centerline. This is one of the few boats in this size range where there is enough beam to put in a U-shaped galley. This has always been one of the big selling points of the Gulfstar 37. The 2 burner gimbaled stove/oven is located outboard to port and the Grunert Refrigeration unit is located under the counter on the aft facing bulkhead. The Microwave is mounted beside the Stove Both of the settee berths in the main salon are very wide when pulled out in their extended position. Actually they are quite wide even in their seating position when they are pushed outboard. The space above the settee has been fitted with custom cabinets on this particular 37, The cushions in the cabin and throughout the boat are fresh and comfortable. We should point out that because the tanks in this boat are all below the cabin sole there is very good storage underneath the two settee berths. There is also good storage outboard of the berth behind the two back rest cushions. The table on the Gulfstar 37 is quite large for a boat of this size. It is a centerline drop-leaf table that comfortably accommodates 6 with extra room for serving dishes etc., etc. Very often people cruise this boat with the right hand leaf in place and this provides almost a dinette type of arrangement on the starboard side. Forward of the main cabin there is a large head to starboard. This head has two doors, 1 with access to the main cabin and the other into the owner's private forward stateroom. The head has a stainless steel sink, electric head and a large bulkhead with mounted mirror. There is one opening port in this head and there is also a dorade vent that provides ventilation. Opposite the head on the port side of the main cabin is a double hanging locker. Going forward into the owner's stateroom we have a large berth with custom made fitted mattress. On the port side is an extremely large double-door hanging locker. Opposite to starboard is a 4-drawer bureau so that this cabin has lots of excellent storage. There is additional storage underneath the V-berth. The Gulfstar 37 has one of the largest forward staterooms of any boat of its size. As a matter of fact this forward stateroom is larger than what you would find in most 40' boats. In addition to the berth there is just a lot of floor space area so it is very comfortable to move around when the door is closed to the main cabin area. This stateroom has 2 opening ports and 1 very large hatch located above on centerline. The forepeak is directly forward of the V-berth and there are two doors that provide access to this anchor rode storage area. The entire interior of the Gulfstar 37 is varnished teak. All of the interior woodwork has a satin finished interior and this includes the inside of the cabin trunk, the beautiful planked ceiling, as well as the fore and aft and athwartships bulkheads. The main table in this 37 has gloss varnish and is in lovely condition. All exterior teak: toe rails, dorade boxes, hand rails, eyebrow moldings and cockpit coamings are varnished. The main sailcover is a tan color. This 37 has the mainsail traveller forward of the dodger area on the cabin top, a bimini top, dodger and sail cover all new in 2011. She also has two large hatches and two dorade vents on the house top. Aluminum mast teeped on keel; Aluminum boom with internal outhaul; Single spreader rig with stainless rigging. Stainless bow rail, double lifelines with port and starboard gates and double rail stainless steel stern pulpit. Teak bow pulpit with anchor roller and chocks, Edson steering wheel with full beam athwartship helm seat. Spacious cockpit, cushions and Teak cockpit table. The Mainsail was replaced in 2011.
