The Ventura 210 can chase big fish just about anywhere they hide or cruise all day. Its Accutrack hull system rides dry and steady when land is a long way over the horizon. A 92 gallon fuel tank enables you to fish all day and come back with fuel to spare. On top of that, Boston Whaler's Unibond construction gives us the security of its no-sink design with an incredible swamped capacity of 5,200 pounds. - is a real plus when you're the only one for miles around who doesn't have a set of gills. You'll find every standard feature and option you need to make this as serious a fishing or cruising machine as you want.

The Ventura 210 measures just less than 21 feet and carries an 8-foot-4-inch beam, giving us a trailerable platform with plenty of room. Our boat maximizes interior cockpit space with its seating configuration, which has a standard stern bench that folds up and stows away when not in use, giving us extra fishing space

Our Ventura gives us a serious fishing machine with four in-gunwale rod holders and under-gunwale rod racks. There's also a standard 20-gallon livewell positioned out of the way behind the transom on the port side, which is equipped with a raw-water washdown. We always bring back dinner and love the large in-floor fish box. If we ever forget the gaff, large fish can be slid into the box via the stout transom door on the starboard side. The cockpit is a thigh-high 26 inches, which allows us to lean into fish without falling overboard.

The helm console is set up with a roomy, lockable electronics box that has a removable smoked Plexiglas cover. For navigational backup, our boat is equipped with an Ritchie compass that's set in-line with the driver, but doesn't intrude into the forward view.

The helm area is ergonomically correct with good throttle placement and a comfortable footrest. There's enough maneuverability in the adjustable captain's seat to scoot it back enough to stand when want better vision or a little breeze. The large Whaler sport wheel tends to partially obscure the tachometer and speedometer when it's tilted, but overall gauge placement is good.

The passenger console is about the size of a refrigerator and holds a portable head with deck pump-out. The head compartment has lighting and is lockable, making it a good place to store valuables. The copilot gets a footrest (like the captain) and a tall, lockable, pull-out glove compartment.

When we go forward thru the wide walk-through area to the bow section you find a generous area for joyriding. Unlike most boats that come to a sharp point at the bow, the Ventura 210's blunt bow allows the wide beam to be carried farther forward and results in an area that allows two reclining passengers ample foot room. There's even enough seating in the bow for a passenger to face rearward without being pinched in. The forward-facing recliners have an angled seat back for comfort, as well as generous dry storage underneath. The seat back depth in the bow area is tall and has well-placed grabrails.

Our Whaler can handle a variety of family duties well. The Ventura 210 is one of the few do-it-all boats that avoids the "master of none" moniker by excelling in all areas.
