This is an original and very unique 28 Bertram. This Bertram 28 Sport Fisherman is the only true sportfish. All others are flybridge cruisers. This boat has the open back bulkhead with 1/2 bulkhead from the deck up about 2' and removable curtains from the top of the bulkhead to the underside of the cabin roof to close off the cabin. The head is forward under the v-berth and the cabin is completely open with the lower steering station starboard forward, fore and aft dinette starboard aft, galley port forward and additional bench seat port aft. With the ability to open up the back bulkhead, the cabin seating and cockpit space are all connected making this the ideal day boat.

Specifications

Accomodations
Rare Bertram 28 sportfish layout with the open aft cabin bulkhead and the toilet under the v-berth rather than in the aft port corner of the salon. The v-berth accomodates 2 overnight guests and the dinette converts to a second double for a total of 4 berths. The galley is to port opposite the hanging locker. The dinette is aft to starboard and there is a bench seat aft of the galley to port. The entire salon can be opened up to the cockpit by removing the curtained aft sidepanels and entry door yet remains secure from the elements with the curtains in place.   The side decks are adequate and provide good access to the bow area. There are numerous stainless steel handrails for added security. Up 2 steps to the raised deck above the engines. If she were larger we would call this a mezzanine deck as it provides an elevated area for additional seating or storage. This deck has hinged side opening hatches port and starboard for engine access.
