General Details

Aerodynamic lines and contemporary styling are hallmarks of this Chris-Craft Concept 258, this boat is equally at home on weekend adventures for two, or day cruises with the family. Chris-Craft's sporty 258 Concept has proven itself to be fast and smooth riding, with the tight handling characteristics of a high-performance sport-boat.

This Concept 258 may be compact, but it offers many of the key amenities of a mid-cabin luxury cruiser. This easy-handling Cuddy Cruiser is a lively performer that will please boaters who are out for pure fun on the water, as well as those who want to hit the next port by sundown. The Proof is in the Cruising w/360 HP OMC King Cobra 454 powerhouse that can rock you along at 50 mph!!

The hull's 20 degree deadrise and its high performance lines give this Concept 258 solid rough water performance and a stable ride. With the wide nine-foot beam it makes for a roomy interior and a spacious cockpit. It has a wide cabin entryway, a galley and a fully enclosed head with sink that make this boat especially comfortable and, it makes optimum use of the space available.

At the stern, a European-style, two-tier swim step is built into the transom. The full-width boarding platform is ideal for swimming, diving and stern-to docking. The swim platform leads to a cushioned pad, adjacent to a curved, full-width settee that wraps around the cockpit. The U-shaped settee converts to a sun pad that's big enough for two to lounge comfortably. All the cockpit upholstery is firmly padded for extra support in rough conditions. Settee cushions slide forward and the stern sun pad rises to offer complete engine access.

Stowage compartments are provided to port and starboard. Dual fender lockers are concealed under the settee. Among the cockpit's most practical features are twin bolster seats for the skipper and companion. They give excellent support to the skipper and crew through the choppiest of conditions. If the going gets even rougher, the seat pad flips up and both people can stand securely, like drivers of offshore race boats. A curved, wrap-around windshield offers excellent visibility for the skipper, especially from a standing position in the bolster seats. It is crafted from tinted tempered glass, not Plexiglas.

At the helm console, controls are practical and conveniently arranged. The padded dash is inset with glare-resistant white-background gauges. The port side console includes a GLOVE BOX and an ICEBOX WITH DRAIN. A sliding, white Lexan cabin door is positioned between the two consoles, and slides open on a track until it is fully concealed. On the same track, a sliding stainless steel ladder emerges from a bulkhead pocket to provide quick, safe access to the foredeck, even when the boat is underway.

Forward, the deck slopes to a rounded sheer, with rails carefully positioned around the bow and along the center of the deck -- right where they are needed. This boats rounded deck hatch is made of white Lexan and is strong enough to withstand rugged everyday use. It opens to provide light and ventilation for the roomy cabin below.

The cabin interior is bright and airy. Amenities include a large dinette that converts to a double berth, a padded headliner, side panel stowage areas and a galley unit built into a rounded fiberglass console. The galley comes with a color-coordinated sink and faucet, icebox, alcohol stove with cutting board and overhead cabinets. The convertible dinette has a removable section that allows the dining table to be set at different levels for various uses. When it is converted to a double berth, it offers room to spare, even for skippers more than six feet tall. Stowage is plentiful, and spaces include a tray built especially for silverware.

The well-designed compartments of this boat are valuable space for weekend cruisers. This Chris-Craft is a Low-Maintenance Machine giving it a forward-moving, contemporary look and, an absence of any woodwork to scrub or varnish. Chris-Craft has mastered the art of low maintenance in this 258 Concept with high-tech flair.

There's almost nothing aboard that will ever need polishing. Tubular aluminum frames around the windshield, the boat's trim provide a European-style finish. This sport-boat is the answer for boaters who want to hit the water with something that's great fun for an afternoon cruise and is roomy and reliable enough for overnight excursions.
