General Details

When you really consider the reasons boaters choose a cuddy
cabin over a cruiser, it hits you quick. Cuddy owners are looking for a retreat from the elements or occasional overnight venture. So why then have boat builders
recently expanded the cabin to include a separate head and galley, essentially
creating a cruiser with no head room? Debuting in 2007, the Regal 2750
FasTrac Cuddy scoffed the growing trend by offering a social and expansive
cockpit and a well-proportioned cabin.

"The micro-trend has been to steal space from the cockpit in order to create more
cabin appointments," says Rob May, Regal's director of marketing. "Regal
doesn't follow the trends, it sets them. So we placed the emphasis of the 2750 in
the cockpit. Regal owners are an exceptionally active group in the boating
community and 2750 is a natural extension of their boating lifestyle."

So what is a social cockpit? It means putting ample seating and convenience at
the top of the list. Regal not only incorporated all of these, but also added a few surprises. For instance, instead of putting a compact galley in the cabin, Regal moved the food prep area to the cockpit. Cooking on the optional stainless gas grill built into the starboard side convenience center not only gives owners a better meal than what can be done on just a hot plate in the cabin, but also
allows them to be near the action up top. Playing host is the large U-shaped
seating arrangement, accommodating a group of seven or more. Access to the
swim platform is safe through the center-line walk-thru. The optional teak swim
platform inlay not only is a soft touch for bare feet, but also compliments the
standard teak table.

For those conservatives arguing, "Why make a cuddy with so much attention
being placed on the cockpit?" Regal's rebuttal is a lavishly and appropriately
proportioned cabin. To adorn the V-berth seating, LeatherCrest upholstery was
employed to distinguish this cuddy from the overused and under-styled cloth
interiors found elsewhere. By concealing the chemical head beneath the
starboard side bench seat instead of a separate compartment, Regal not only
made it more comfortable to use but maximized the interior volume of the cuddy. This extra space allows for a full-queen size berth for a nap or overnight venture, made even more pleasant with a full sliding screen door. Make no mistake about it - the 2750 is cuddy in all the right places.

The cabin doesn't hold this cuddy back when underway since Regal incorporated
its FasTrac hull design. Independent testing has time and again confirmed that
the FasTrac achieves faster speeds, quicker time to plane and better fuel
economy than boats of comparable weight and propulsion. As for handling, the ride is soft and predictable, courtesy of the deepest deadrise in its class at 24
degrees. Turning is sharp and tight, with a steady hold.

By putting the right things in the right places, cuddy buyers are falling in love with the 2750.
