General Details
Replica of an antique classic.
This boat is a must see for the beauty of the boat and the craftsmanship. It is made for daytrips at a cruising speed of 18-20 knots or as a tender boat for a larger yacht. Just as the original it has very little equipment apart from engine and steering, it has no accommodations and no galley.
The price is without VAT.
A unique opportunity to become the owner of a beautiful runabout, built to the same high standards and attention to detail as the 1920´s original from the famous Swedish boat yard, Neglingevarvet.
“Stockholms båtsnickeri” located in Saltsjöbaden, Sweden has recently finished the reproduction of a 25´ runabout designed in 1925 by Carl Plym, one of Sweden’s most well known motor boat constructors of his time.
The boat has been built to the original lines drawings to a very high standard of workmanship but using some modern techniques; this will not only ensure a long working life but will significantly reduce maintenance. All the timber in the boat comes from the same African mahogany log to ensure scarfless planking and an even structure and color.
Before proceeding with the build the yard asked current leading naval architect; Ocke Mannerfelt to analyze the original design in terms of performance and sea keeping qualities. Mannerfelt concludes that the boat is a well designed semi-planing hull and suggested that an environmentally friendly 75 HP four cylinder diesel would be a quiet and fuel-economical power installation, which is sufficient to do justice to the hull. The completed boat has been tested in the water during the summer
and has performed beautifully.
The designer:
Carl Plym was the son of August Plym, founder of the legendary Neglinge boat yard on the east coast of Sweden. When August died Carl took over the running of the yard. He designed among other things several successful speedboats.
The builder:
“Stockholms båtsnickeri” is collaboration between boat builders Andreas Millde, Harry Johans and Petter Tjikkom. They are specialized in restoration and building of classic wooden sail- and motor yachts.
