Propulsion:
Two (2) 80" diameter x 87" pitch Kaplan-type 4-blade Rice "Aqualloy" propellers, inside Type 37, stainless steel lined, kort nozzles manufactured by Custom Nozzle Fabricators.
Steering:
Hydraulic (HPU) steering system manufactured by Gulf Coast Hydraulics, driving twin rudders behind each propeller. Jastram Engineering control system with a primary Full Follow-up system and a back-up Non-follow-up system.
Generator Sets: Two (2) 65 KW Onan/Cummins diesel generators
Pumps: One (1) bilge/ballast pump, one (1) fire and general service pump,
one (1) fuel oil pump, two (2) fresh water pumps/pressure sets,
one (1) dirty oil pump, one (1) sewage macerator pump
Air Compressors: One (1) small air compressor for "shop" service
Engine Cooling: The main/auxiliary engines and gears are cooled by engine
raw water pumps through heat exchangers.
Oily Water Separator: One (1) Heli-Sep Model 500, for use with 300 gallon waste oil storage tank.
Off-Ship Fire-fighting: A single monitor, with a nominal capacity of 2,000 gpm, fitted forward for fighting off-ship fires. Sea water for the monitor is supplied by a dedicated fire pump driven by one of the diesel generators.
Towing Winch: the Aft Towing Winch is a Jon-Rie Intertech Series 500, with a capacity of 2000 -ft of 1 3/4" Dia. Hawser. The winch produces a line pull of 70,000 lbs,. a line speed of 30 FPM and a brake holding force of 265,0000 lbs.
The hydraulic motor is furnished complete with a re-circulation (free-wheel) valve, which will free-wheel at a line pull of approx 75,000 lbs in neutral position (if the winch is overhauled) and 10,000lbs in the emergency release (abort) mode.
