Introduction
A significant detail regarding Turtle II and one that is not thought of enough or asked about….what type of owner has taken care of the vessel, and what personal responsibility for care and maintenance does this add to the real value of the vessel? The owners of “Turtle II” have cruised extensively with a sister ship Westbay/Sonship 58 for many miles annually, and have set a new standard for awareness of all mechanical, electrical, and cosmetic requirements of the vessel. In short, they should write a book about cruising and maintaining a vessel of this size and type. I personally feel that the next owner will enjoy a family cruising yacht that cannot be compared to anything offered in this category, and they will benefit from true “maintenance perfection”, not just an often overused adjective to describe simply a better than average vessel! If you step aboard “Turtle II”, you will realize what a fantastic opportunity this truly represents.
Special Cruising Features
In addition to the later described, unique equipment list on TURTLE II , some of the unusual cruiser friendly features are as follows: Second dedicated master stateroom air conditioning unit that can run through a Prosine inverter for overnight silent ships operation (2) 3000-watt inverters with over-size battery banks Major ground tackle upgrade (by a factor of two) Dual zone central heating systems (diesel & electric, controlled in each stateroom) Engine trolling valves for slow speed operation Computerized planned maintenance system software for all systems
Accommodations
The Westbay 58, a three stateroom, raised pilothouse motoryacht with cockpit and flybridge, has one of the finest interior arrangements of any similar type yacht. TURTLE II is crafted in satin varnished American Cherry with high gloss corner posts throughout. With the exception of the galley pilothouse area and the heads, her floors are covered in carpet with a sound deadening underlayment. Head floors are covered in marble tile. All fabrics, wall coverings, carpets, bedspreads pillow shams and more were upgraded from standard to take advantage of the best quality. Closets and hanging lockers are lined with aromatic cedar. Windows on the main deck are a gray tinted, heat-treated laminated glass. All living spaces have either opening ports, overhead hatches, or sliding windows for natural ventilation. TURTLE II is fully airconditoned and has 3 different and independent heating systems. Her engine room is unlike any other with full standing headroom and a thoughtful layout making maintenance and accessibility to equipment unbelievably easy. Staterooms are accessed via a staircase forward from the starboard side of the pilothouse.
