TOPSIDES "Kairos" sports the unmistakable lines of a true Downeast cruiser, with an uncommonly graceful sheer, trunk cabin and an upright profile. The cockpit is generously sized and fitted with commercial quality Freeman watertight hatches, sturdy mooring hardwarde large deck scuppers and attractively trimmed in bright mahogany. A full gate opens to the teak swim platform and wide gunwales lead forward. The flybridge includes dual pedestal seats overlooking the cockpit, plus a passengers' bench built fore of the console. The console is arrayed with complete cruising electronics. Custom covers protect seating and controls and a bimini provides shade. There is an additional aft cockpit canvas awning, as well. DOWN BELOW Salon entry is through a large slider from the cockpit, or through the starbaord side pilothouse slider. Beautifully contructed with premium quality joinerwork and gorgeous teak and holly floors throughout, the Northern Bay is an excellent example of New England's custom boat-building heritage. Concept and design are simple -- craftsmanship is extraordinary. The salon is brightly lit by large windows all-around, allowing the pleasure of 360-degree views and the function of all-weather lower station navigation. The galley and dinette are both at salon window level, with the large L-shaped dinette to starboard and the galley to port. Another single seat is set just aft of the galley. The lower control station and helm seat are forward and starboard in the salon. A privacy hatchway separates the salon from the lower companionway and staterooms. Descend to that companionway and find the guest bunk room to port and head compartment to starboard. The head also includes a separate stall shower. Fully forward is the master stateroom, with large island berth set at an ideal level for comfort with drawers beneath, plus a portside dresser with four more drawers, twin nightstands and an ensuite hanging locker. Hatches and screened portlights are found throughout the forward area for natural light and ventilation.
