Built as WILWAT for the owner of Watkins Motor Lines SEAFARI been owned five avid yachtsmen in her history and each has instilled further embellishment to an already distinguished vessel. Her aft deck was modified in 1995/96 to include a slightly more generous cockpit area and a greatly enhanced swim/dive platform. The resultant configuration continues to embrace the tradition and durability of this classic Burger yacht. SEAFARI has the hull design and fuel capacity to travel far and wide. With moderate draft she has proven herself equally comfortable in the Bahamas, the Caribbean, or the Pacific Northwest. She is ready to go NOW.
SEAFARI sleeps six in three double cabins plus there are separate crew quarters forward featuring a forward cabin with three berths, crew head and shower, captain’s cabin, and a crew lounge. Her main deck includes a formal dining salon forward, updated galley, powder room, main salon, aft deck salon with wet bar and teak dining table, and water sports deck/fishing cockpit aft. The flybridge is accessed from the pilothouse and in addition to the upper helm station also offers excellent seating, flybridge dining table, BBQ grill, and access to the boat deck aft. There is also access to the boat deck from the aft cockpit ladder.
Owner's Stateroom
The master stateroom is all the way aft with a centerline king sized berth, his and hers hanging closets, abundant drawer space, and ensuite head with tub and shower. The master stateroom can be accessed from the companionway forward with stairs from the main salon or there is a water tight door aft from the stateroom up a few steps to the aft cockpit deck. The décor throughout the yacht is traditional with enamel painted joiner work, varnished teak trim, and gloss white headliners with exposed, varnished teak beamed overheads. Additional features in the master stateroom included a Panasonic TV and VCR, separate back-up air conditioning unit, and wine storage locker.
Guest Staterooms
Forward from the master cabin are two identical double cabins each with ensuite heads, full length hanging closets, built-in dressing bureaus, and vanity/writing desks. The wall to wall carpeting in the stateroom area is recently new, off white Berber style. The three heads in the owner’s quarters have all been updated in recent years including new fixtures, flooring, countertops, and lighting.
Crew Quarters
Located forward on the lower deck and separated from the owner’s quarters by the full width engine room, SEAFARI boasts one of the nicest crew quarters to be found on a yacht of this size. The forward crew stateroom has upper and lower berths to starboard and a single upper to port. There is a full length hanging locker and numerous drawers and stowage compartments. A water tight hatch and access ladder open to the foredeck. Aft to port is the crew head and stall shower and opposite is the built-in laundry station with GE full sized washer and dryer. Next aft is the crew lounge and dining area across from the private captain’s cabin, well furnished with single bed, drawers beneath, built-in clothes bureau, and hanging locker with safe. A Sears Cold Spot 11.6 cubic foot freezer is also built-in.
Main Deck
The main deck features full walk around side decks with teak overlaid. There are substantial bulwarks with Burger’s traditional teak cap rails and stainless steel handrails protecting the side-decks. The foredeck offers excellent work space for handling the windlass and ground tackle. Cushioned bow seats with watertight storage beneath are integral to the forward superstructure with a deck hatch between them for access to the crew quarters below. A built-in bow dunnage box is forward to port. Entry to the yacht’s interior is from either side of the pilothouse amidship, or from the cockpit deck. The port entry steps up into the pilothouse while the formal entry is to starboard, into the teak soled companionway leading forward to the galley and crew quarters, or aft to the main salon. Just opposite the entry are teak steps up to the pilothouse while slightly aft and inboard is the on-deck powder room. Just forward of the galley is the carpeted formal dining salon richly paneled in teak and furnished with a custom teak and maple dining table and 8 high backed leather dining chairs. A glass fronted teak cabinet is aft with fitted plexiglass holders for the vessel’s crystal and stemware. Along the forward bulkhead is a custom teak and keystone sideboard with custom fitted drawers for china, flatware, table linens, and office supplies. Included in this cabinetry is a separate, back-up air conditioning unit. Large teak framed windows are to port and starboard with custom window treatments. Overhead and indirect lighting provide for a variety of options.
Conveniently positioned on the main deck level between the pilothouse and the formal dining salon, the galley was substantially updated 3 years ago with new appliances, flooring, lighting, and countertops. G.E microwave (2007) G.E. cooktop (2007) G.E. oven (2005) Vent-A-Hood (2007) G.E. dishwasher (2005) Frigidaire side-by-side, frost-free refrigerator/freezer (2005) Twin deep, stainless steel sinks Garbage disposal Black & Decker coffee machine (2007) Black & Decker toaster oven (2007) Granite countertops (2007) Vinyl flooring (2007)
Just aft of the galley and approximately mid-ship for maximum comfort while underway, the all teak pilothouse is raised a few feet above the main deck level where it has excellent visibility forward and to port and starboard. Fully updated a few years ago, the instrument console and navigational equipment is strategically positioned for maximum efficiency. An upholstered bench seat with foot rest is built-in aft to port with seating for 3-4 persons. Teak stairs inboard of the bench seat lead up to the flybridge area.

A single captain’s chair is positioned at the helm while to port an L-shaped bench seat faces a pedestal mounted table with two additional teak pull up chairs. Opposite to starboard is another bench seat with excellent dry storage under all bench seating as well as beneath the helm console. A stainless steel BBQ grill is aft to starboard with a chest type refrigerator opposite to port, outboard the ship’s radar mast structure. Main Deck - Main Salon
Next aft from the pilothouse and main deck powder room is the full width main salon. Traditional and charming, rich teak paneling and cabinetry surround the salon including solid teak overhead beams. Recessed lighting is fitted generously into the high gloss white headliner panels. A pair of coral-cluster reading lamps sit atop heirloom end tables flanking a white duck upholstered sofa with nautical blue piping. Additionally a pair of blue cushioned rattan style chairs and a blue upholstered chair complete the seating around an elegant, teak framed “butterfly hatch” salvaged from a classic sailing vessel. Along the forward bulkhead are built-in teak cabinets, bookshelves, and a glass front display case housing nautical artifacts including a highly detailed, model sailing yacht. The nautical décor of fabrics and teak is both comfortable and enduring. Port and starboard full length windows are framed in teak with blue fabric curtains along with silhouette type window shades. To the stern, a sliding glass bulkhead door opens to the spacious aft deck salon.

Aft Salon
Again, the gloss paneled overhead with exposed teak beams continues through the aft salon deck as well as does the honey teak cabinetry and trim, creating a warm and welcoming ambience. Unique in this area is the beautiful planked teak deck in lieu of carpet. A teak wet bar is built-in forward to port with storage for liquor and glasses, stainless sink, refrigerator, and commercial grade Manitowoc ice maker. Aft to starboard is an L-shaped bench seating arrangement with blue upholstered cushions. Matching rattan arm chairs are opposite a pedestal mounted, teak-laminated hi-lo table. An additional bench seat is aft to port while 3 leather seat bar stools face the outboard breakfast bar adjoining the wet bar. Overhead storage for fishing rods is secured above. The aft salon area can be air conditioned or it can be opened to the elements with sliding windows port and starboard and isinglass panels aft. The windows have recently been fitted with drop down curtains in blue and white fabric matching the seating and pillow covers. Past and present, SEAFARI’s owners have found this to be a most popular area for entertaining guests as well as for intimate dining. Centered in the aft bulkhead is the full length, watertight door opening to a protected teak platform leading to the stairs down to the cockpit deck.
Although not evident in any way, the hull was extended by Derecktor Gunnell in 1995/96. A total of 7 ½" was added to the hull; 4' to the cockpit, 3 ½" for an integral swim step. The rudders were increased in size by 35% to insure proper handling. Aft to starboard, a transom door opens to the aluminum non-skid painted swim step with pop up cleats, a built “T” bar dive ladder, and a recessed, underwater light for diving. Mounted inboard of the transom is a windowed, live bait well/fish tank. All cabinets in the cockpit are removable. A custom-built, removable aluminum ladder, leads from the cockpit level to the boat deck above. A centered deck hatch opens to the large lazarette area for service to rudders and storage.
Engine Room
Located amidship below the pilothouse the full width engine room is accessed via watertight door from the crew quarters. With more than stand-up headroom the machinery space is a delight and boasts many updates over the years including a substantially improved exhaust system for both main engines and generators. The electrical system has also received many updates. An aluminum workbench with vise and built-in stainless steel sink is included and there is abundant storage for tools and spare parts. Access to pumps, motors, filters and all systems is excellent and the lighting, both AC and DC is superb.
