(LOCATION: Aventura FL) The Magnum 51 Bestia sets new standards for blending size, luxury, and performance. The new Magnum 51' is, at 74 MPH, the fastest, large Magnum yacht ever launched. The deck was designed for Magnum by the Brazilian designer, Luiz de Basto. Just as her predecessor, the Magnum 50' Bestia, she is still, and even more so, a BEAST.
The Magnum 51’ is a narrow beam, deep-vee, very heavy hull, generally equipped with twin Caterpillar or MTU diesels of between 1600 and 1925 HP each coupled to Arneson surface drives. The top speed can reach up to 74 MPH. Very impressive is her unbelievable seaworthiness in all weather conditions. She slices through the waves and can safely and comfortably make long crossings in rough seas, whilst large yachts remain in port.
In spite of her small size, the Magnum 51’ has appx. 7’ headroom and boasts a comfortable double cabin with Queen sized berth and plenty of closet space, a large head with stall shower, a salon, galley and crew cabin.
The cockpit, with bolster helm and companion seats also features an L-shaped side and transom seat and sundeck.
Her tremendous speed and brute power make this new Magnum an absolute thrill.
- The spacious interiors include a large master cabin, salon, head and crew cabin and are custom designed for the owner.
- Deck & Hull
- Hulls are hand laminated, and vacuum bagged, using either GRP, bullet proof Kevlar or carbon fibers for greater strength and weight reduction. Bottoms are solid glass of generally more than 2" thickness. Hull sides, deck and bulkheads are of composite structures; fiberglass/ epoxy and foam core for greater strength and weight saving. Aircraft type nomex composites are used for light weight interior structures. Magnum hulls are thick, safe and heavy. Mass is a key factor in Magnum’s comfortable ride. " The boat’s construction isn’t super exotic, just super strong." (Mike Smith — Boating Magazine ) The deep-vee hull design with 24 degrees deadrise guaranties a comfortable ride even in adverse sea conditions.
- Mechanical & Electrical
- Twin CAT or MTU diesels: 1600 HP - 1925 HP Arneson surface drives improve top speed whilst reducing drag and improving fuel economy. Most important systems have a back-up system to prevent potential problems. Pumps for equipment in the living quarters, as for the heads, ice makers, refrigerators etc. are engine room mounted to keep the living areas quiet. Special insulation of the engine room, bulkheads and cabins provides extreme sound dampening for a more comfortable ride. Custom designed Nibral Rolla propellers provide improved performance with less vibration
