Accommodations & LayoutThe aft area is the living quarters and sleeping area.  There is storage in the back compartment.  There is a full double berth in the front compartment that rides like a Cadillac on a sunny day! There is storage full length of the bow area beneath the front double berth.
GalleyThere is a galley in the back compartment with a one burner alcohol stove and single sink.  The head is also in the back compartment.
DeckExtensive overhaul in 2009:  New awl grip gel coat paint, bottom barrier coat with two coats of Trinidad bottom paint.  All standing, running rigging replaced, LED Tricolors and LED strobe, LED spreader lights, complete anchor rewire to central panel 2 station, GPS station, 1500 gallon per minute bilge pump.  Wired for Ray Marine Auto Pilot, 80 watts of solar power per hour. Sails are in excellent condition,  Full batten main with 3 hole jiffy reefing.  125% furling head sail,  spinniaker track.  Boat is well balanced and will hold steady course in a steady favoring wind.   Two solar panels.   Vessel is able to fold up in order to trailer. Boat comes with an excellent tadem axle custom trailer.  The trailer is equipped with surge brakes with a safety break away system.  The brakes and surge system were over hauled in 2009.  Very safe sailing vessel.  Owner claims it to be unsinkable and un-cap-sizable. Both armises have three independent sealed bulk heads with floatation blocks in the front and rear bulk heads. Each outside hull has three watertight compartments.  The front of each compartment is filled with Styrofoam so the boat cannot sink.  She can raise her windward armise 15 degrees and track straight as an arrow.  Beam on trailer is 8.5 feet.  Extended beam is 20 feet.  Armises have dagger boards that can be raised or lowered to 6.6 deep.
30' Argonaught Trimaran
A practical trimarine you can take home with you....... . Waiting for you in MONTEREY BAY CALIFORNIA $34,500.00 " NO REASONABLE REFUSED The Argonaut is a unique folding, comfortable trimaran suitable for a vacation cruise for a couple or small family. This unusual boat Is sure to turn some heads. This one is a 1995 and probably in the best shape of any Argonaut s around. The aft cabin gives unobstructed space with a full sized double table (5'6" x 8.5) located away from onrushing water forward, making it quiet when under way. The center cockpit offers good visibility, and access to the tramps is adjacent to the cockpit where crew weight is properly centered. There is a VHF radio, some shelves and storage nooks just inside the cabin door. Steering is via a ships wheel in the cockpit, but can also be steered by the CAPE HORN VANE autopilot system if you want to just relax and ride on the trampolines. The boat can be piloted from the cockpit or from inside the cabin. If on a long reach, you can use the autopilot and stay out of inclement weather and view the seas through the forward facing cabin door window. Radio, GPS and lit compass are all it the cabin to assist. The outriggers swing aft in folding; It is possible to fold them in to fit the boat in a standard slip when the boat is left in a marina. The sharp entryway reduces spray at high speeds. The bow has a 8 FOOT DOUBLE PULLMAN BUNK cabin that can act as a dry locker for sails and rope.;, it is a storage and porta potty station, and anchor and chain locker. (access is from through a large hatch door on the starboard side of the center cockpit). Optionally the porta potty can be placed in the Main Cabin under the companionway stairs. There is good headroom in the cabin, and a sea berth that can be converted to queen size berth. Outriggers are symmetrical (25' feet long). Their slippery, rounded shapes and V's bottom provide easy motion in a seaway and smooth plunging through chop and waves at high speed. Each has watertight compartments plus foam buoyancy. Folding and deploying the outriggers is a one person job and the folded beam has a legal width for trailering. The trampolines are in good condition. A manual winch and an a-frame gin pole are built in to make for easy single handed stepping of the mast. The a-frame Gin pole arrangement for raising the mast converts to a handy bow rail when under way. The hull & deck are a sandwiched construction with bi-directional fiberglass and closed cell PVC core of 7.5 lb. density, reinforced in special areas as necessary with unidirectional glass fibers (Kevlar Carbon fiber fabric 5.7oz., Plain Weave, 50" (282) Thickness = 10.1 mils & Epoxy), folding fiberglass cross arms on which pivot fiberglass outriggers with three flotation chambers. Auxiliary power is 6 HP NISSAN outboard mounted amidships where it can raised, and lowered without moving from the cockpit. The Nissan has a re-pitched prop for torque and can drive zoom up to 5.5 kts. At 45% power @ 5 gal tank you will get 10 hours. Deploying the boat from the trailer to the water and ready to sail takes about 1/2 hour. The boat is not starved for sail power like much of the competition,525 SQ FT yet you can leave both sails up well into white cap conditions. This is a sea cruising tri. I run before storms in 20-35 kts, 8-10 seconds 10 15 ft swells, 2 reefs , quartering the oncoming seas at 10kts. Heaving to in heave sea conditions is something of pleasure. Heave to in the direction you wish to travel in the same conditions mentioned; Zoom will slow down to 2-4 knots and at the same time you feel quit safe enough to retire to aft cabin for hot meat and restful nights sleep.

She is driven well in light conditions too. The boat is very easy to sail. The wheel steering in the cockpit, sail controls, dagger board. DOWN 6 FEET UP 1 FEET, controls and auxiliary power are in easy reach of the skipper. She is easy to trailer and very stable in high winds. The included trailer is custom made for the boat, (EZ-Loader) that includes a manual winch and makes launching and retrieving it a breezeand can be done single handed. Also included is a REMOVABLE WINDSCREEN for those choppy days it covers the entire center cockpit. I have really enjoyed her, she is sharp looking boat and is sure to turn some heads and get a lot of comments and questions every time I take her out. It is a very solid boat, yet light weight due to the sandwich foam composite construction. .There is spinnaker track and storage unit for a spinnaker pole; this usually adds 3-6 kts of speed depending on the point of sail. Zoom will point 20 degrees apparent wind. @7kts She is bleach-able andfloats in one foot of water.Dagger board down 6 feet up 1 foot. .

More about this Coastal Cruiser with Zoom This boat is setup for the California Coast. I found that the launching ramps are all different and at low tide most of the ramps can be very difficult. If you have a float on float off boat it can be a real dilemma. That is why you need a trailer that is set up for this type of situation. Zoom launchs or retrieves in two feet of water or less. The boat is about half the weight of most boats its size and because of that it takes less of a tow vehicle to tow it. Ive towed it with a 160hp V6 Dodge for years and now with a f150 ford van and always just drove right up the ramp with no problem sometimes with a crowd watching in disbelief. Seeing a 30 ft. boat with a 20 ft. beam looks like a lot of boat coming out of the water. This usually generates interest and there is always someone who comes over to talk about the boat, itsunusual design, and how fast it will go.I spent a lot of time locating the right trailer to do the best job. This allows me to drive up or down the coast, be dropped off, launch and sail down wind to the next port to load it back on the trailer. For me a launch from Santa Barbara and a sail to the Channel Islands for a couple a days or more is something to remember.Seeing the Islands and all the coves, meeting other boats, and just having fun. Another good sail is to launch at Oxnard and sail to Catalina Island and back to Newport the next day. Down wind sailing in this trimaran is fast, fun and smooth. This boat was designed for cruising and camping  not for racing. Yes, I have surfed the boat on swells and yes, it is addicting. The boat sails fine up wind,20 DEGREES APPARENT, even with big swells and whitecaps. Most of the sailing I do is out of Moss Landing for a day sail by myself and back home for dinner. When I do take someone out sailing the first thing they notice is the lack of feeling of speed. Then the next thing I see them out on the trampoline taking a nap. As the day goes by and the wind builds they start asking how fast are were going? I tell them were going 8 knots and we have to be doing at least 12 knots or better to get that feeling of speed but at 18 knots there eyes get bigger and a big smile comes on their face. The winds along the coast are not that strong and the average speed is about 8-12 knots. On the other hand when there is very little wind, I can ghost pass the mono hulls. There is no main sails slapping when there is no wind like there is in a mono hull. You cant compare mono hulls or cats to a trimaran theyre all so different. The boat and 2 axile trailer is set up the way it is for the coast here and is hard to beat for fun - if it wasnt fun I wouldnt have owned it all these 8 years.
