Designer:  Brent Swain  The Steelaway is a hard chine steel 35' Brent Swain designed pilot house sloop built in a Sausalito, California boat yard and launched in 1997. The owner of the yard had it built for himself and did not scrimp on anything. When the yard was slow he used his workers on his project. The bottom of the keel is 1/2", the keel is 1/4", the hull constructed from 3/16" and topside is 1/8" steel plate. The Steelaway was sailed to Mexico in 2001.
