Enabling cookies in MS Internet Explorer
- Start up Internet Explorer on your PC.
- On the menu bar, click on 'Tools', then select 'Internet
Options...'
- On the dialogue box that opens, click the 'Privacy' tab.
- The privacy panel contains a slider control that you can
use to set your privacy options. This slider presents the
following options:
- Privacy setting: Block All Cookies
This option completely disables the use of cookies in
your web browser. If your browser is already set at this
level, or if you select it now, you will be completely
unable to log into BoatQuest. Do not select this option
if you wish to be able to log into your account on
BoatQuest.
- Privacy setting: High
If you select this level, you will still be unable to
log into BoatQuest. However, you can set this level, and
set up a special rule to permit cookies from BoatQuest
only, which will permit you to log into your account. To
create a special rule, click the 'Edit' button, and in
the new dialogue box that opens type http://www.boatquest.com
into the 'Address of Web site' box, then click the
'Allow' button. This will enter the 'boatquest.com'
address into the 'Managed Web sites:' box, and permit
you to accept cookies from us, yet still block cookies
from sites that you do not trust.
- Privacy setting: Medium High
(Recommended)
This is the highest setting that you can select and
still be able to login to BoatQuest without creating any
special rules for accessing our site. This setting
should allow you to log in without any problems.
- Privacy setting: Medium or less
Any setting at this level or below will provide you with
access to BoatQuest without problem. This level or lower
is not recommended however, as it opens you up to
additional risks from other websites.
- When you have selected the privacy level that you
require, click the 'Apply' button to activate the setting in
your browser.
- Click the 'OK' button, and you are done.
