Newly appointed Grand Banks CEO Mark Richards gave me a ring recently to talk about the Grand Banks 60, a design that created a bit of a buzz at the Newport boat show this past September. Richards told me that the model is “taking Grand Banks in a whole new direction in terms of appearance, performance, and construction techniques.” He also told me that the boat will be very efficient. Not hard to believe considering Richards’s extensive sailing background, as well as some of the fuel-burn numbers we’ve seen out of boats from his original builder, Palm Beach Motor Yachts.
