Based on a semi-displacement hull design and built to CE Class A (open ocean) classification, the 640 has an optimum cruising range of 1000nm at an economical 10 knots cruising speed. A circumnavigation from Antibes to Sardinia, for example, or the Amalfi coastline, without interruption, is completely feasible. An even greater range of up to 1400 nm can be achieved at a displacement speed of up to 8 knots.
The Outer Reef Classic Azure’s maximum speed with standard engines is 14 knots, but with the optional engines upgrade, a maximum speed of 20 knots, with a cruising speed of 17 knots can be achieved.
The main deck is equipped with an aft-galley in the deck house, which can easily merge with the aft-deck via a full-height patio-style door and fully opening electric glass window, creating a perfect ‘alfresco’ dining and socializing environment.
The new bridge view deck, situated ahead of the flybridge helm station has seating for two. Clear glass surrounds ensure full protection from the wind, while offering a 180- degree panoramic view over the foredeck and to the ocean horizon beyond. The advent of this new feature offering views of sky and water inspired for this new model’s name – ‘Classic Azure.’
European sales director, Trevor De Faoite commented, “The launch of the new Outer Reef 640 ‘Classic Azure’ is largely in response to requests from our clientele who desire the perfect yacht for Med cruising and beyond.
“She is extremely stable and capable of cruising for days on end without refueling, while providing room for crew, expansive outdoor spaces to enjoy, and a very spacious galley and aft-deck entertainment zone”.
The new Outer Reef 640 ‘Classic Azure’ can be customized to an owner’s individual cruising goals.
