Description

SY ALTAIR is an 82 ft Cutter Rigged Aluminium Classic Ketch, built by the renowned Nordia Shipyard in The Netherlands in 1987.

 

Her current (2nd) Owners carried out a very extensive refit between 2017 and 2020, including an elegant stern extension. Many technical and mechanical areas were replaced or rebuilt, resulting in a beautiful blue water sailing yacht; a yacht with beautiful classic lines, a new set of sails, and equipped with completely new, modern technological systems. Ready for the Mediterranean or ocean sailing.


Her long keel aluminium hull, and ketch cutter rig is designed for very safe and comfortable sailing. With all hydraulic furling sails and winches operated from the cockpit she is very safe and can be sailed with a minimum crew. The MCA certification for cat 0 (unrestricted) for maximum 6 persons and cat 2 for 12 persons ensures all safety equipment and facilities are maintained to the highest standard.
