Jake Gibson
A native Texan, Jake was born and raised in Houston; with the majority of his summers spent with his extended family in North Carolina. It was there on the shores of Lake Norman, that his passion for the water and boating developed at an early age. After high school, Jake traveled to Washington DC and quickly rose from intern to one of the youngest full-time Congressional staff members in the US House of Representatives. However, the water continued to call loudly to Jake, and he soon found himself heading to South Florida to begin a career in yachting.
In 2008, Jake moved to Fort Lauderdale to begin a career as a professional mariner, and within a year settled in Northern Palm Beach County where he served as Mate on the 93′ motoryacht Big Zip for the next five years. While developing his skills on the water, Jake worked on yachts ranging from 55′ sportfishers to 180′ motoryachts and cruised up and down the US East Coast, South Florida and throughout the Bahamas. In his free time Jake can be found spending time with his wife and two year old son at the beach, boating, diving or exploring all the beauty of the Sunshine State. It is Jake’s desire to bring his ten years of industry experience, combined with his integrity and drive to assist all his clients with Bluewater in achieving their nautical dreams.
