Laura Unsell
Laura Unsell is a true Florida native. Born and raised in Miami, she grew up boating in Biscayne Bay and the surrounding waters. At the age of 16, Laura started working at the local Bayliner dealer. After taking a break to attend college at LSU (Baton Rouge), Laura returned to Miami and joined Bassett Boat Company of Florida (Sea Ray, Hatteras, Azimut) and started their first in house finance department. It was there that Laura achieved her greatest business success as part of the Bassett team becoming a pioneer in the formation of the the largest marine retailer - MarineMax.
After 20 years with MarineMax Miami and Pompano, Laura went on to represent Rinker and ProLine before joining Anchor Yacht Sales in Ft. Lauderdale. For the next 14 years Laura worked as an intern to Sandy and Forest Roberts and learned about the building and commissioning of Hampton Yachts directly with the Hampton factories in Asia. It was only natural that Laura would shift into being a Yachtbroker and New Build Advisor when Seattle Yachts was named the east coast dealer for Hampton Yachts in 2019. In February 2021 Laura sold and delivered the flagship of the Hampton line, the new Hampton 72 Endurance wide beam (20 ft beam).
Laura has spent over 40 years in the marine industry.
