MERIT, a Maxi 80' Farr designed Whitbread Yacht is for sale.
A once in a lifetime opportunity to sail and race a legend.

She has just completed a total four year refit and is ready for the Ocean Global Race or Newport Bermuda! New rod rigging, chain plates, bottom, hull and topside paint. New or re-certified safety gear including three life rafts. All she needs are new sails to set her free.
She finished third in the 1989/1990 Whitbread as a Sloop. The first two overall that year with the winds were Ketches. She was re figured by Farr as a Ketch and she fly's.

Bill Hall
Bill has over 54 years of Yachting experience. He received a U. S. Navy Diploma from the Department of the Navy at the age of 16 for passing sailing, navigation and seamanship courses at Culver Honor Naval School.
He has raced extensively in One Design and Offshore sailboats, qualifying and or sailing in five North American Lightning Championships and was Commodore of his District Fleets. He was a representative of Shore Sails and raced on One Tonner’s in SORC in the 1980’s. Additionally he has raced Hobie 33’s winning the first Hobie Winter Nationals. Raced New York 36’s, J-24s, Islander 40 in the Great Lakes and Florida along with many other sailing activities. He currently is involved in the total refit of the Farr 80 racing yacht MERIT that was in the Whitbread Around the World Race in 1990. He looks forward to campaigning her over the coming years.
He currently races Lightnings One Design Class and offshore yachts. One of his most memorable events was a pick-up match race against Ted Kennedy in Palm Beach in 1973. Bill remembers “we were sailing a 50-foot Ted Hood boat built by Frans Maas “The Joy III”. We won the race.”.
His Power experience includes Rybovich, Huckins, Hatteras and Trumpy, Feadship, Trawlers and Downeast Yachts.
Bill started sailing and cruising in the Bahamas in 1972 when the Out Islands were still the Out Islands and the book “Out Island Dr.” was truly the way it was. He went on to sail the B.V.I., Belize and many other places.
I have been selling yachts and representing owners and buyers the right way! Full service and doing what’s best for the client not me.
I have strong relationships and knowledge of many of the largest brokers, and builders in the World. My focus has been the sales, refits, owner representation, marketing, and negotiating skills of Yachts all the way to closing.
Rather if it's sitting on the dock for hours studying hull shapes, new sail designs, long range cruising or imagining the best yacht for its given purpose Bill Has always been a Yachtsman and looks forward to meeting kindred souls and using his skills helping them find their perfect yacht. He follows his lifelong passion for sailing and yachting.
