Description
This Herreshoff classic design clipper ketch was the last vessel that L. Francis Herreshoff personally supervised the construction of. "Native" is a famous Ticonderoga ketch design. This boat was sailed mostly in New England and often went South to the Bahamas. Brought to Chesapeake Bay in 1998, she is in Deltaville VA.
NATIVE has been owned by the same person for 20+ years, a knowledgeable “wooded boat guy”. He is aging and thus selling. She is currently on the hard in Deltaville Virginia. There is no current survey or independent evaluation of the structural condition. The hull planks have not been re-fastened. She was in the water and usually stays in the water and has been on the hard for several months for maintenance and ease of potential buyer examination. This is not a cast off the lines and sail away vessel though she has been maintained. Native would need a deep dive by a knowledgeable person to verify her seaworthiness.

Lin Earley
Lin Earley was born and raised in Chesapeake, Virginia. At age 12 while fishing the tidal waters of Elizabeth River in a 14 ft. skiff, he fell in love with boating. A graduate of Virginia Tech, Lin’s first career was in finance and banking. His last position was regional president for Bank of America in the Hampton Roads Virginia market. Upon retirement from banking Lin managed a public, Venture Capital Company.Purchasing or selling a yacht is a major investment / financial decision and Lin’s years of financial experience and negotiation skills are a natural for professional brokerage. Lin and his wife Susan live in Virginia Beach and currently own a 42 ft. Treworgy Yachts steel trawler they enjoy cruising the Chesapeake Bay and ICW, having logged over 12,000 miles.
