Standard power on the 240 Dauntless Pro is a 225-hp Mercury Verado outboard. Other Verado options are available up to the maximum 350 hp. Top speed with the 350 is 57 mph, though most folks will cruise in the mid-20s for best fuel efficiency.
A unique — and fishy — standard feature is what Boston Whaler calls the Pro Angler’s Tower. Instead of mounting a separate seat and raised helm station on the hardtop, the builder is utilizing the top of the center console unit as a place to stand. An opening in the hardtop gives access to a low-slung helm station and provides a commanding view of the surroundings.
“The 240 Dauntless Pro is designed for the serious angler, with features and options that serve the technical bay boat market,” says Jeff Vaughn, vice president of sales, marketing and customer service. “It’s a tremendous fishing platform with all the strengths quintessential to a Whaler: superior ride quality, ease of operation, durability and comfort.”
