It was not surprising that Darren quickly found his sea legs in yachting industry as his family is involved in various facets of the maritime industry with his Father working as a Marine Engineering, Mother working as scuba diving instructor and older brother as a Yacht Captain.
At the age of nine, Darren moved to the Seychelles islands from South Africa with his family and soon started sailing with the local yacht club. Fast forward to the age of 18, Darren completed his highschool and decided to go straight into yachting as a Dive instructor/ engineer onboard to quickly work his way through the ranks to becoming captain on a 114ft Dutch built schooner at the young age of 20. From there he worked on many brands of yachts. Collected countless Nautical miles with a collective 9 Atlantic crossings and have worked in 57 different countries throughout the world.
Through his years in the yachting industry Darren found himself doing mostly charters and private use on Catamarans but also in large yacht refits, Catamaran new builds, consulting for new build and surveying, sea trials, deliveries and so much more.
Darren found a land based life in South Florida working with Sunreef Yachts where he did the startup for Sunreef Yachts Service Department as a Service manager dealing with all commissioning and warranty service for the brand. Darren then found his love for yacht sales and helping clients find the best yacht/Catamaran to fit there needs and wants.
